Data Collaboration

Data is one of the most underutilized assets of our digital world. Especially accross organizations there is nearly no real way of data collaboration. Unlocking data in a privacy-preserving and fair way is possible. See how.

The most successful business models of the last decades are data-based business models. Most of the bigtech companies are directly (Facebook, Google) or indirectly (Amazon, Netflix) relying on data network effects.

Data is the key to drive insights, personalization, augmentation and automation. This can happen with a wide range of algorithms ranging from rules-based systems to artificial intelligence. However most of the world’s data is siloed, unstructured and with little context.

Until now only organizations that own the whole data value chain from data creation to data consumption are really successful with data.

Unlocking data that...

1

is privacy- and control-preserved

2

let’s data providers and other contributors in the data value chain participate fairly in the value creation and

3

let's them govern jointly created assets jointly

It will allow for a new form of collaboration - Data Collaboration. Data Collaboration will enable new approaches for research and innovation, organizational and individual decision making and value creation and sharing.

Besides the more technical part described above, there will also be more content-, context- and insight-based aspects of Data Collaboration.

I am an early contributor to GAIA-X, the public-private partnership of the EU, aiming to establish data sovereignty of individuals and organizations. And I have extensive experience working with and coaching Data- and AI-based Start-Ups and Scale-Ups.

What most people don’t know, there are ready-to-use technological approaches in the fields of privacy-enhancing technologies (PET), Blockchain/Web3 and hybrid AI that allow the vision of cross-organisational Data Collaboration to become reality today.

Token-based Platform Design

We are in a crisis of institutions and governance overall. Using technological advancements, e.g. in the blockchain and web3 space, has the potential to upgrade our governance models to become leaner, more effective and robust and create better outcomes for everybody. Are you in?

Open Organizations

Typical Organizations are great in preserving the status quo and in excelling efficiency. But they are bad at creating something new and innovation. In addition hierarchies have a tendency to create silos, competition and negative externalities. Open Organizations can overcome these pitfalls. Do you want to know how?
