Data Collaboration

Data is one of the most underutilized assets of our digital world. Especially across organisations, there is nearly no natural way of data collaboration. Unlocking data in a privacy-preserving and fair manner is possible. See how.

The most successful business models of the last decades are data-based business models. Most big tech companies are directly (Facebook, Google) or indirectly (Amazon, Netflix) relying on data network effects.

Data is the key to driving insights, personalization, augmentation, and automation. This can happen with a wide range of algorithms ranging from rules-based systems to artificial intelligence. However, most of the world’s data is siloed, unstructured, and lacks context.

Only organisations that own the whole data value chain, from data creation to data consumption, are really successful with data until today.

Unlocking data that...

1

is privacy- and control-preserved

2

let’s data providers and other contributors in the data value chain participate fairly in the value creation and

3

let's them govern jointly created assets jointly

It will allow for a new form of collaboration - Data Collaboration. Data Collaboration will enable new approaches for research and innovation, organisational and individual decision-making, value creation, and sharing.

Besides the more technical part described above, there will also be more content-, context- and insight-based aspects of Data Collaboration.

I am an early contributor to GAIA-X, the public-private partnership of the EU, aiming to establish data sovereignty of individuals and organizations. And I have extensive experience working with and coaching Data- and AI-based Start-Ups and Scale-Ups.

Most people don’t know there are ready-to-use technological approaches in the fields of privacy-enhancing technologies (PET), Blockchain/Web3, and hybrid AI that allow the vision of cross-organisational Data Collaboration to become a reality today.

Token-based Platform Design

We are in a crisis of institutions and governance overall. Technological advancements, e.g., in the blockchain and web3 space, can upgrade our governance models to become leaner, more effective, and robust and create better outcomes for everybody. Are you in?

Open Organisations

Typical Organisations are great at preserving the status quo and excelling in efficiency. But they need to improve at creating something new and innovative. In addition, hierarchies tend to create silos, competition, and negative externalities. Open Organisations can overcome these pitfalls. Would you like to know how?
